Victor Osimhen claims Nigerian Golden Boot at EaglesTracker Awards 2023

• Victor Osimhen has clinched the prestigious Golden Boot award at the highly anticipated EaglesTracker Awards 2023. With an astonishing tally of 31 goals in 39 games, Osimhen proved himself the most prolific goal scorer from Nigeria throughout the 2022/2023 season.

A remarkable 26 of his goals were unleashed upon the fiercely competitive Italian Serie A, where his exceptional performances significantly contributed to Napoli's triumphant capture of their first Scudetto title in 33 years.

Osimhen's prowess was not confined to the domestic league alone, as he also netted five more goals in the illustrious UEFA Champions League.

This impressive feat propelled Napoli to reach the quarterfinals of the prestigious tournament for the very first time in their history.

Overcoming stiff competition, the 24-year-old triumphed over other notable contenders such as KAA Gent's Gift Orban and Union Saint Gilloise's Victor Boniface, to claim the highly sought-after award. This marks Osimhen's inaugural reception of the Golden Boot.
