Through a statement on their official website, League One newcomers Crawley Town have secured the services of Nigeria international Benjamin Tanimu from Tanzanian Premier League outfit Singida Black Stars for a whopping $850,000. The deal, announced on transfer deadline day, sees Tanimu pen a two-year contract with The Red Devils, tying him to the Broadfield Stadium until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
The 22-year-old defender, a product of Bendel Insurance, has already made a name for himself on the international stage, earning caps for Nigeria's U23 team and the senior Super Eagles squad.
His surprise inclusion in the team for friendlies against Ghana and Mali in March 2024 marked the beginning of an exciting journey, which saw him make his senior debut against the Black Stars and feature in the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against South Africa and Benin.
