Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly not in discussions with Napoli regarding a transfer for striker, Victor Osimhen, despite recent speculation in the Italian press. This comes as PSG near the completion of a deal for young Benfica midfielder, João Neves.

According to an exclusive report from le10sport, PSG are set to enter the final stages of negotiations with Benfica for the 19-year-old Neves this week. The Parisian club has made Neves their top summer transfer target, with a meeting scheduled to finalize the deal. This news coincides with reports suggesting PSG are not actively pursuing Napoli's Osimhen.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano previously suggested PSG were advancing in talks with Napoli for the Nigerian striker after the player himself gave the green light. However, these reports seem to contradict that notion. Sources close to the club claim that sporting director Luis Campos, who previously worked with Osimhen at Lille, is not currently in talks with Napoli regarding the player.

As it stands, PSG reportedly does not have plans to recruit a new number nine for the upcoming season. Coach Luis Enrique appears to be content with his current options in Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani. PSG have also not received any offers for either of their current strikers, and unless a player departs, the club will not look to replace them.

The Reigning African footballer of the year who was Napoli's top scorer in their title-winning season, was also rumoured to have attracted interest from Premier League giants Chelsea. However, the West London outfit will only be willing to negotiate with the Neapolitan club for their most prized asset at a much more subsidized rate lower than his hefty £130 million release clause.
