Premier league clubs ready to go all out for former Liverpool forward
English Premier League clubs, Newcastle United and West Ham United are both interested in signing Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi according to OJBSPORTS.
This season, the former Liverpool forward has 16 goals and 4 assists in all competitions for Union Berlin.
In the 2018/2019 season, while on loan at KAA Gent in Belgium, he scored 14 goals in 38 games. That remains his best ever tally in Europe.
Union Berlin's coach, said last year that bigger clubs often come knocking on their door in search of the 24-year-old.
“It’s normal in football that when you begin to make a name for yourself, bigger teams will come knocking at the door.
“I am very happy for the players when they can get to the next level, but it also doesn’t help me as a coach when good players leaves but that’s sadly football.”, Fischer Urs said.
Premier League hopefuls, Fulham and Southampton are also reportedly keeping a close eye on the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup winner.
Union Berlin will play in-form Köln later today. Awoniyi will be aiming for his 12th league goal of the season.
