- Rangers are likely to demand a €6 million transfer fee for Dessers, who is still contracted to the Club till the summer of 2027.
Italian Serie A outfit Cagliari are ramping up their efforts to secure the services of Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers from Rangers this summer. The Sardinian club is eager to bolster their attacking options after a disappointing 16th-place finish in the Italian top-flight last season.
With the potential departure of Peru striker Gianluca Lapadula to Serie B side Pisa, Cagliari are keen to bring in a proven goalscorer to fill the void. Dessers, with his impressive record in European competitions, has emerged as a prime target for the Italian club according to Tuttoatalanta.
The Nigerian striker's credentials are impressive, having topped the scoring charts in the UEFA Conference League three seasons ago with nine goals for Feyenoord. Although he struggled to replicate that form at Cremonese two seasons ago, he still managed a respectable 16 goals in 35 games.
Cagliari believes Dessers has the potential to be a key player for the club, and they are willing to build a team around him. However, Rangers are likely to demand a significant fee, in the region of €6 million, before letting their prized asset go.
The former Belgium youth international who still has a contract that will see him remain at Glasgow until 2027, joined the club in the summer of 2023 on a four year deal from then Italian Serie A new comers Cremonese. Since then, he has registered thirty-one goal contributions (23 goals and 9 assists) in fifty-six appearances for The Gers.
