  • Nigerian champions top Group B with seven points, setting up semifinal clash against TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo.

Nigeria's Edo Queens pulled off a stunning 2-1 comeback victory over reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns to secure a semifinal berth in the CAF Women's Champions League.

The thrilling win propelled the Nigerian champions to the top of Group B with seven points from three matches.

Melinda Kgadiete's 28th-minute strike gave Sundowns the lead, but Edo Queens' determination paid off in dramatic fashion.

Despite Chioma Olise's missed penalty in the 53rd minute, Emem Essien equalized deep into stoppage time, setting the stage for substitute Mary Mamudu's thrilling winner in the 101st minute.

This remarkable turnaround sends Edo Queens into the semifinals, where they will face TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The West African Football Union (WAFU-B) champions began their campaign with a 3-0 thrashing of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) Ladies FC but stumbled in their second match, settling for a goalless draw against FC Masar of Egypt.

Coach Moses Aduku's side demonstrated remarkable resilience against Sundowns, overcoming adversity to seal their semifinal spot.

This victory marks a significant milestone for Nigerian women's football and sets the stage for an intriguing semifinal clash against TP Mazembe.
