- The Nigerian international has been Nigeria's most prolific goalscorer in the French top flight over the past two and a half seasons
Premier League campaigners Leeds United are interested in signing Super Eagles striker Teremas 'Terem' Moffi if reports in the French media are anything to go by.
Terem Moffi has been a revelation in the French Ligue 1 since signing for FC Lorient from KV Kortrijk in the summer of 2020.
The 23-year-old forward scored 14 league goals in 32 appearances in his first season in France and followed it up with eight goals and four assists last term.
Now a master of the French top flight, Moffi has taken his scoring consistently a notch higher this season. The former Kauno Zalgiris striker has found the back of the net ten times in his first sixteen league games.
Only the PSG duo of Kylian Mbappe (13 goals) and Neymar (11) have beaten opposing goalkeepers more times than Moffi in Ligue 1.
And in less than three years, Moffi has climbed into third place on Nigeria's all-time highest goalscorer chart in the French first division, only behind John Utaka (59 goals) and Victor Ikpeba (55).
Moffi's brilliance has not gone unnoticed as several clubs from abroad are interested in securing his services.
According to French Publications ButFootball, Leeds United and Southampton have emerged as frontrunners for the Nigerian forward's signature.
Signed by KV Kortrijk for €8 million on October 1, 2020, Moffi is currently valued at €15 million, which leaves him joint-tenth with Genk's Paul Onuachu on Nigeria's most valuable player list.
