Sky Bet Championship side,QPR have confirmed the signing of Leon Balogun. Following the expiration of his contract with Glasgow Rangers, the Super Eagles defender signs with the West London-based team on a free transfer.
The 34-year-old is anticipated to help the Super Hoops in finishing in a playoff berth. The German born defender has previously worked with Michael Beale, the head coach of Queens Park Rangers.
Beale was previously the assistant manager of Steven Gerrard, while he was at the Ibrox Stadium. Balogun joined Glasgow Rangers in June 2020. He made 65 appearances, scoring two goals and assisting three others.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Bronze medalist helped the Steven Gerrard led side end a ten year wait for the Scottish Premiership title in 2021.
He also went on to help Rangers win the Scottish Cup and a second place finish in the 2021/2022 Europa League.
The former Mainz star returns to England, having featured for Brighton And Hove Albion in the Premier League and Wigan Athletic in the Sky Bet Championship.
