The first leg of Nigeria's Super Falcons' American tour ended in defeat for them in Kansas City.
The Super Falcons of Nigeria suffered a 4-0 loss to the United States of America (USA) Women's national football team in an exhibition fixture in preparation for the world cup.
Sophia Smith scored the opener as she outmaneuvered a defender and scored from inside the penalty area in the 14th minute.
The Super Falcons also threatened to find the equalizer through Onumonu and Gift Monday but American goalkeeper, Alyssa Naeher saved the efforts.
Lindsey Horan made it 2-0 in the 26th minute with a goal to the far post off an assist from Smith, who added a second goal in first-half stoppage time.
Smith completed her brace for the night when she scored the third for the Americans in the 47th minute to give them their third.
The US scored the final goal of the Encounter via spot kick as USMNT Captain, Morgan converted it.
The United States has a 70-game unbeaten streak on American soil -- 63 wins and seven draws.
The two teams face off again on Tuesday in Washington, D.C. to complete the double-legged Friendly match.
