Everton are preparing to offer Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi a huge pay rise as the Nigerian looks set to commit to a contract extension at Goodison Park.
Iwobi has been one of the brightest sparks for Everton during the first half of the 2022-2023 Premier League campaign.
While the Toffees have struggled to put positive results together, Iwobi has been sensational for Frank Lampard's side.
Aside from delivering several energetic and excellent performances in the middle of the park, the Nigeria international has provided 5 assists and 1 goal in 15 league appearances.
Only Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus have supplied more assists than Iwobi in the Premier League so far this season.
Everton are on the verge of committing Iwobi to a bumper new contract that will keep him beyond the summer of 2024, the expiring date on his current deal.
And according to The Sun, the Toffees will pay Iwobi a salary of £100,000 per week, a significant rise from his present wages of £70,000.
Iwobi joined Everton from Arsenal in 2019 for £38 million and was looking like a flop signing until he completely turned his fortunes around recently.
Despite Iwobi's impressive contributions, Everton only sit in 17th position on the Premier League table.
Is this a well deserved pay rise for Iwobi ?
