Nigeria's Super Falcons will be facing the Senior Women's National Team of Japan in an international friendly match at Kobe's Noevir Stadium on October 6th, 2022.

Nadeshiko Japan are rated 13th in the world, while the Super Falcons are 39th on the FIFA Coca-Cola rankings.

Only once have the two sides met in a competitive match, at the 2004 Olympic Women's Football Tournament. On August 14, 2004, Nadeshiko defeated the Falcons 1-0 at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus.

Nadeshiko also won both of their back-to-back friendlies in 2013.

The Japanese have won the FIFA World Cup once and it came in the Germany 2011 tournament after defeating USA on penalties.

The Super Falcons are expected to qualify for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the game is expected to serve as a tune up game before the tournament starts.
