Ajibade and Ohale named in WAFCON Group Phase Best XI

Nigerian duo of Rasheedat Ajibade and Osinachi Ohale have been named in the team for the group stage of the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

Rasheedat Ajibade of Atletico Madrid and Osinachi Ohale of Deportivo Alaves have been two of Nigeria's most notable players at Morocco 2022 according to CAF.

Both of them played all of Nigeria's group games.

Two of the Falcons' seven goals have been scored by Ajibade, and Ohale has contributed to the team's two clean sheets.

The FC Robo product scored Super Falcons' lone goal in the 2-1 defeat to South Africa on match Day one.

Rash then went to be involved in three goals (a goal and two assists) during Sunday's 4-0 demolition of Burundi.

Osinachi was named the Woman of the Match in the drubbing of Burundi following her efforts to make sure the defense wasn't breached.

The official CAF team of the competition thus far includes the two outstanding Nigerians and nine other players.

Seven of the eight quarterfinalists in the competition were represented on the team, with two each from South Africa, Zambia, Morocco, and Nigeria. The group stage best XI includes one player from each of Cameroon, Tunisia, and Botswana.

On Thursday, the Super Falcons will compete against Cameroon for a spot in the semifinals.
