World Cup qualifier: Super Eagles' clash with Lesotho rescheduled

  • The Nigeria Football Federation has announced a new date for the 2026 World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and the Crocodiles of Lesotho.

The match, initially set for November 17, 2023, has been rescheduled to take place on November 16 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, starting at 1700 hours.

Nigeria's second match in Group C will be played on November 20, 2023, at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.

Leading up to the qualifiers, Jose Peseiro's team had a 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia and a 3-2 victory over Mozambique in international friendlies on October 13 and 16, respectively.

The Super Eagles have a perfect record against Lesotho, winning four consecutive games, scoring ten goals, and conceding only two.

Group C of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers also includes South Africa and the Republic of Benin.
